Devonshire Partnership has acted for the Smithfield Market Tenants’ Association (SMTA) for almost five years providing bespoke tenant advice and expert witness services in order to best protect our client.

 

Over the years, our work has been varied, challenging, but immensely rewarding. Initially we provided advice on health and safety matters. Thereafter, we were appointed and produced an expert witness report on the Poultry Market, at the time, the largest clear spanning dome in Europe.

 

Since then, we have been representing SMTA regarding the landlord’s, the City of London, proposals to undertake major works to the Smithfield Meat Market with SMTA remaining in-situ and trading.

 

We have also been advising our client on the works carried out by the landlord to discharge their legal repairing obligations under the lease.
